It is both an exceptional CD player and a top-class external DAC/digital preamp, able to make the most of your CD collection. While delivering an enormous sonic boost to external digital audio sources it now extends its resolution to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD compatibility via USB.
Building on that legacy, the DAC unit used is none other than the ESS9018 8 Channel Chip, the foundation of Audiolab's multi-award winning M-DAC, which in the 8300CD is now enabled to process an astonishing resolution from files up to384kHz/32-bit in addition to DSD256.
Audiolab's in-depth research and testing also led to the development of a new slot-loading CD drawer, which is part of the new, sleek modern design – simplistic and yet completely reliable when compared with inferior tray-style mechanisms.
